The Scottsdale Police Department have arrested and charged a 28-year-old man with kidnapping, sexual assault and sexual abuse after he picked up, and carried away an unconscious girl.

On Saturday, Sept. 17 the Scottsdale PD was contacted by a female victim who stated she was sexually assaulted earlier that day.

The victim related that she had been out drinking with a female friend at a downtown Scottsdale club. The victim’s next memory was waking up in an unknown location being sexually assaulted by an unknown male, according to police.

Upon an investigation, detectives learned that the victim and her friend left a downtown Scottsdale bar after midnight on Sept. 17.  The victim was unable to walk on her own and the friend left the victim passed out at 7235 E. Shoeman so she could get the car.

When the friend came back, the victim was gone, police stated.

Surveillance video shows a male suspect pick up the unconscious victim and carry her away from that location. The suspect carries the victim to a parking garage where he sexually assaults the victim.

The suspect later drives the victim to his residence where he sexually assaults her twice more. Later that morning, the suspect drove the victim and dropped her off at a known intersection in Tempe.

The suspect was later identified as Rodolfo A. Ramirez, 28.  Ramirez was arrested on Sept. 21 and charged with two counts of Kidnapping, three counts of Sexual assault, and Sexual Abuse.

At this point in the investigation, the police believe this to be an isolated incident.  Anyone with information on possible additional incidents involving Ramirez should contact the Scottsdale Police Department at 480-312-5000. Anonymous tips can be left at www.tipsoft.com.
