Open house Jan. 7 to update rezoning of 40 acres in Crossroads East

The Arizona State Land Department will conduct an open house Jan. 7 to share an update on plans to rezone 40 acres within the area known as the Crossroads East Planned Community District just south of the Grayhawk Community.

The meeting will be held 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the  Scottsdale Airport Terminal Lobby, 15000 N. Airport Drive, Scottsdale.

The boundaries of the site to be rezoned are Scottsdale Road to the west, Grayhawk master-planned community to the north, Loop 101 and power line corridor to the east and the Princess Drive alignment and Union Hills Drive to the south.

The purpose of the rezoning case is to:

  • Add 40 acres of Planned Airpark Core Development zoning with an attendant 1,600 dwelling units to the Crossroads East Land Use Budget.
  • Reduce the available acreage of light industrial zoning in the Crossroads East Land Use Budget by 40 acres.
  • Revise the Crossroads East PCD to allow development within the comparable Planned Regional Center zoning district on sites of at least 10 gross acres.
  • Update to the overall roadway circulation plan for the Crossroads East PCD.
  • Update the Crossroads East PCD Character Area map to reflect changes consistent with the updated roadway circulation plan.
  • Update the Crossroads East PCD comparable Planned Regional Center and Light Industrial district regulations to current City of Scottsdale and I-1 standards.

For additional information, contact Greg Bloemberg at the City of Scottsdale. The reference number for the case is 346-PA-2002.
