Open house offers look at proposed development near DC Ranch

Camelot Homes will host an open house 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, to discuss proposed development plans for a 58-acre state land site located adjacent to DC Ranch in north Scottsdale.

For the past several months, Camelot Homes has been actively engaged in discussions with a local neighborhood leadership group to come up with an acceptable plan for the vacant 58-acre state land site located at the northeast and southeast corners of Pima Road and Los Gatos Drive.

The proposed site plan includes 50 lots and provides open space tracts on the north, east, west and southern boundaries.

According to a press release, the proposal will request rezoning of the property from R1-190 to R1-35 ESL, and a non-major General Plan amendment to amend the development classification for the site from suburban residential (1-8 units per acre) to rural residential (one unit per acre).

Camelot acquired the site at a public auction in April from the Arizona State Land Department. The company will soon be submitting a developmental proposal to the City of Scottsdale.

The open house will be held at the Desert Camp Community Center, 9260 E. Desert Camp Drive in DC Ranch.

The city’s case number for this project is 365-PA-2015.
