Throughout Councilman Phillips’ term on the Scottsdale City Council he has kept his commitment to fiscal conservatism and responsibility, an Oct. 6 press release states.

“For the first three years on the council I have reduced the red tape of bureaucracy for small business, helping create Scottsdale’s first building APP and kept taxes at bay, not voting for even a fee increase to our already overburdened taxpayer base,” Councilman Phillips said in a prepared statement.

“I have kept an open dialogue for all my constituents with my personal phone number and e-mail and am happy to say I have been able to help my fellow residents with problems ranging from trash pickup to flood control.”

As an avid proponent of tourism, Councilman Phillips is on the board of the Westworld of Scottsdale subcommittee and the Parada Del Sol Foundation.

“I will continue to be a force in bringing quality western themed entertainment and events to Scottsdale as well as other local events that bring tourists to Scottsdale, which is our No. 1 revenue resource that provides the amenities we all know and love about Scottsdale,” he said.

Councilman Phillips is expected to kick-off his campaign 6 p.m. at Cien Agave, 7228 E. 1st Avenue in Old Town Scottsdale.
