Xavier Uziel Perez, a 38-year-old medical worker at a north Scottsdale pain treatment center, was arrested on Wednesday, March 20, on charges of sexual assault.

On June 25, 2018 Scottsdale Police Department officers responded to Integrated Pain Consultants, 9500 Ironwood Square Drive, in reference to a reported sexual assault, police officials say.

During the initial investigation the 48-year-old female victim reported that she had been under sedation for pain treatment to her back. As she began to regain consciousness in recovery, she believed that she had been sexually assaulted by the male medical worker providing her care in the recovery room, police say.

The victim identified that worker as Xavier Perez.

Over the course of the next several months evidence gathered confirmed the female victim’s account of events and allowed detectives to establish probable cause for Perez’s arrest.

He was taken into custody without incident. During an interview subsequent to his arrest, Perez admitted to the sexual assault, police say.

He is currently being held in custody.

Integrated Pain Consultants has several Valley locations and Perez has worked at all of them at different points in time.

Though Perez stated that this was a one-time occurrence, detectives are concerned there may be other victims.

The police department is asking anyone with additional information to call the Scottsdale Police Department at 480-312-5000.
