Scottsdale Charro Foundation names 2015-16 board of directors

The Charro Foundation is pleased to announce its 2015-16 board of directors. The mission of The Charro Foundation is to promote education through scholarships, youth development and sports in our community.

The Foundation proudly supports this mission by developing programming through collaborative partnerships with community organizations.

Chris Watts, president and CEO of Sunstate Equipment Company, was elected president of The Charro Foundation for the 2015-16 fiscal year.

Mr. Watts has served in a variety of leadership roles within the Charros organization including chair of the charitable contributions committee, vice president, and then president of the Scottsdale Charros and most recently vice president of The Charro Foundation.

“I am honored to serve as the new president of The Charro Foundation,” said Chris Watts. “The Scottsdale Charros do important work in our community and The Charro Foundation serves to support our nonprofit partners and public schools. The Charro Foundation recently approved more than $600,000 in grants and scholarships and there’s good energy and creativity going on in the organization right now. The Charro Foundation board looks forward to working collaboratively with our community partners in the coming year.”

The Charro Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that has provided millions of dollars in grants and donations to local charities and educational programs. The mission of The Charro Foundation is to promote education through scholarships, youth development and sports in our community.

The Charro Foundation proudly supports this mission by developing programming through collaborative partnerships with community organizations. Our programs include the Future Teacher Scholarships, Master’s in Education Fellowships, Outstanding Student and Educator Awards Banquet and the Youth Baseball Clinic & Luncheon.
