Scottsdale City Council OKs downtown zoning map amendment

Scottsdale City Council Tuesday, May 17 approved a zoning district map amendment on a 6,114-square-foot-property at 7363 E. Scottsdale Mall.

The change allows the zoning designation of Central Business Downtown Overlay to change to Downtown Civic Center Type 2 with amended property development standards for the stepbacks.

The motion carried 5-2 with councilmembers Kathy Littlefield and Guy Phillips dissenting. Prior, Councilman Phillips made a motion to not approve Parkview Mixed Use Rezoning. The motion failed 2-5 with Mayor Jim Lane, Vice Mayor David Smith, Councilmembers Suzanne Klapp, Virginia Korte and Linda Millhaven dissenting.

The ordinance removes the north, south and west property line stepback plane incline ratio of 1:1 between 30 feet above the property line and 45 feet; and lower the beginning point of the stepback plane incline ratio of 2:1 above the north and west property lines from 45 feet to 30 feet for a 6,114-square-foot-property at 7363 E. Scottsdale Mall.
