Scottsdale city manager recovering after collapse

Scottsdale City Manager Fritz Behring collapsed during a Tuesday, June 2, city council meeting.

He was hospitalized and has a positive prognosis, according to a June 3 statement from the city of Scottsdale.

The collapse was related to a surgery he received last year and his hospitalization is expected to be short, according to the statement.

“He plans to return to work in the near future, and thanks everyone who has reached out to express their good wishes for his recovery,” stated Communications and Public Affairs Director Kelly Corsette, in the statement.
