Scottsdale Fire Department highlights outstanding service

Scottsdale Fire Department has recognized outstanding employee and volunteer achievements and promotions at its annual ceremony on Dec. 11 at the Scottsdale Center of the Performing Arts.

“The commitment these individuals show to our community is extraordinary,” stated Fire Chief Tom Shannon, in a press release. “Every day they go above and beyond to live the ‘we care for you philosophy of Scottsdale Fire.”

Outstanding service awards were presented to five employees and one fire volunteer.

Recent promotions of 31 staff members were also highlighted. HonorHealth was recognized with the Community Partner award for the implementation of MIHP and the organization’s commitment to out-of-hospital care, according to the release.

The awards are:

  • Firefighter of the Year: Joe Johnson
  • Officer of the Year: Captain Matt Perry
  • Outstanding Service: Lori Schmidt
  • Fire and Life Safety Award: Senior Deputy Fire Marshal Peter Earls
  • Administrative Person of the Year: David Getz
  • Volunteer of the Year: Dolly Debulash
  • Community Partner: HonorHealth
