On May 13 at 10 a.m., detectives from the Scottsdale Police Department Vehicular Crimes Reconstruction Unit made an arrest in the March 13 fatal hit and run collision involving 81-year-old Sloan Harper.

Detectives determined that Blake A. Crawford, 23, was the driver of a stolen Prius that struck and killed Mr. Harper, according to police officials.

Crawford immediately fled the scene and later dumped the stolen vehicle approximately 1.5 miles away, police stated. Crawford was identified through DNA and other evidence.

He is facing charges of leaving the scene of a fatal collision and auto theft.
