The deceased suspect in the July 27 officer-involved shooting at 9301 E. Shea Blvd., has been identified as Dylan R. Liberti, according to Scottsdale police officials.

The 24-year-old suspect was on felony release, said police, for an incident that took place in Scottsdale last November. During the 2015 incident, Liberti assaulted a Scottsdale officer with a knife and attempted to take the officer’s firearm.

He was ultimately taken into custody after a struggle ensued and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, the 2015 police report stated.

The investigation into the July 27 incident is ongoing and there is no further information at this time, police stated.
