The “Drug Take-Back” program takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30.
It’s part of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s 11th Annual National Prescription Drug Take-Back.
Many Arizonans are not aware that medicines kept in home cabinets are susceptible to diversion, misuse and abuse. Prescription drug abuse in the U.S. is alarming, as are the number of accidental poisonings and overdoses due to these drugs.
Many Americans do not know how to properly dispose of their unused medicine, often flushing them down the toilet or throwing them away – both potential safety and health hazards.
