Applications are now available for seats on four Scottsdale boards and commissions – including a new Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee.

The City Council plans to appoint seven Scottsdale residents to the oversight committee in January.

Scottsdale residents approved two bond questions Nov. 3, one to fund pavement replacement on city streets and the other to construct or reconstruct four fire stations.

The city also has one opening each on the Human Services Commission, the Industrial Development Authority and an opening for a hotelier on the Tourism Development Commission.

Applications for boards and commissions are being accepted until 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24.  The City Council will consider nominations on Jan. 11.  Interviews and appointments are tentatively scheduled for Jan. 26.

Following the interviews, the council will appoint residents to three-year terms, the release stated. All board and commission members must comply with the city’s Ethics Code.

Residents interested in serving on boards and commissions can submit an application at ScottsdaleAZ.gov, search “board vacancies.” The application form can also be emailed to residents who call 480-312-7977, or may be picked up in the City Clerk’s Office in City Hall, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd.
