Scottsdale woman arrested after shooting husband in neck

The Scottsdale Police Department Violent Crimes Unit arrested Maria Soria after she shot her husband in the neck, according to police officials.

At 5 p.m. on May 19, officers responded to what was initially reported as a medical call at 7110 E. Continental Dr. As more information became available, the call was upgraded to a shooting.

Arriving officers found three adult residents in the apartment. One of the residents, a male subject had been shot in the neck with a handgun, according to police officials.

On May 20, police arrested Soria, 57, for the shooting. She is being held in custody on two counts of domestic violence aggravated assault.

The victim remains in the hospital in extremely critical condition, police stated.
