Fox Sports is working with the city to feature the cowboy sign in a series of advertisements to promote the Women’s World Cup Soccer tournament taking place through July 5 in several Canadian cities.

Fox wants to promote the cowboy sign adorned in a U.S. soccer uniform in videos that will appear on numerous sports programs before and during World Cup coverage.

According to Brett Hansen, Fox Sports Arizona’s director of communications and marketing, the network is targeting “iconic local landmarks” across the country for this promotion.

Beside the popular Scottsdale sign, Fox is also featuring the “Fonz” statue in Milwaukee, the “Running Man” statue in St. Louis and the TC Bear statue that resides outside the Twins stadium in Minneapolis.

Look for the Scottsdale cowboy to be supporting the U.S. national team during upcoming Fox broadcasts.
