Young man dies after loosing control of car, striking tree

A 24-year-old man has died from his injuries after a single-car accident in Scottsdale on April 20.

At 2:45 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, the Scottsdale Police Department responded to a single vehicle collision in the area of 92nd Street and Thunderbird Road. The investigation thus far has determined that the victim was traveling west on Thunderbird Road; at 92nd Street, the driver lost control of the vehicle, according to police.

The vehicle drove up onto the raised median striking a tree. It continued across Thunderbird coming to rest in Thunderbird Park.

The male driver was the only occupant in the vehicle. He was transported to an area hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries, stated police.

His name is not being released at this time.
