Kopplin: an open letter to Mayor Lane

Richard Kopplin

Richard Kopplin

I have been a resident of Scottsdale since moving here in 1988 just over 28 years ago. My business, headquartered here in Scottsdale, allows me to travel the country and see a variety of very interesting cities.

I don’t believe there is any city in the United States with the quality of life that we enjoy in Scottsdale. We are so privileged to live here.

Part of the quality of Scottsdale living, I believe, is a result of good governance. Having served on the city council in my hometown of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, I have an appreciation for what it takes to provide outstanding city services.

In my 28 years of living in Scottsdale, I believe we have had very good city governance but there are two mayors, in my opinion, who have stood above the rest. Mayor Herb Drinkwater and you!

I want you to know that I appreciate your service to the city. We are a much better city because of your leadership.
