Manser: coverage of Twin Peaks contest is bad form from the Independent

I was just reading the latest edition of the Scottsdale Independent.

Karen Manser

This is really a great publication, but I can’t believe you would even publish the article about Miss Twin Peaks!

Nor can I believe that Carolyn Vangelos, co-owner of Twin Peaks franchise, supports this horrible competition that completely objectifies women.

What are we saying to our young girls with this craziness? Girls need to be assured that they have worth and can accomplish great things without being some object that is judged by her body parts.

Everyone involved in this from the competition to the editor should be horribly embarrassed in this age of the “me too” movement. If any one is paying attention, even the major sports cheerleaders are under attack for the same objectification.

Editor’s note: Ms. Manser is a resident of Scottsdale
