Opinion: Why does Trump think Russia is a friend to the U.S.?

Russia is not our friend.  She is our geopolitical adversary.

Anyone who says otherwise is ignorant, misinformed, or deliberately deceptive. And that includes President-elect Donald Trump, who for whatever unacceptable reasons, is trying to magically morph the dangerous Russian bear into a docile friendly puppy.

Fortunately, a number of Republican and Democratic senators have already called out Trump, indicating that Russia did influence the election that resulted in Trump, and asserting that Russia is in fact a global threat.

The difference?  These senators do not seem to have any economic ties to Russia, so their opposition will not personally impact their finances.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Donald Trump, or for his presumed pick for secretary of state, both of whom reportedly have financial ties to the Russians, and both of whom now want us to believe that the Russians are our friends.
