D-Backs spring training game sets attendance record

The Arizona Diamondbacks announced that Saturday, March 12’s sold-out crowd of 13,514 set the single-game record for Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. The previous facility record was set on March 22, 2015 with 13,507 fans.

The award-winning facility, now in its sixth season, has had more than 100 sellouts since 2011, according to a press release.

Among the recent awards given to Salt River Fields at Talking Stick are “Best Spring Training Facility” by Arizona Foothills magazine for the fourth consecutive year, “Best Spring Training Destination” by Sports On Earth and “#1 Spring Training Facility” by Concierges magazine.

It is also the first Spring Training facility to receive a gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Program.
