Houston Texans football player — and ex-Arizona State University football player — Jaelen Strong was arrested in Scottsdale for marijuana possession on Sunday night, according to published news reports.

ABC 15 reports that the wide receiver was arrested before midnight on Feb. 28 while riding in a black Maserati. Officers stopped the vehicle for having no visible license plates and found fellow former Arizona State University football player Damarious Randall driving with Strong and another passenger.

A strong smell of marijuana was coming from inside, published news reports state. Strong admitted to having marijuana without a medical marijuana card. He gave officers a cigar box with three marijuana cigarettes inside, according to the reports.

Strong was booked into Scottsdale jail and later released. Police say Randall and the other individual were released at the scene.
