New pickleball courts near completion in Scottsdale

Eight new pickleball courts are expected to be ready for play by next week at Cholla Park in Scottsdale and four new courts will soon be ready for play at Scottsdale Community College.

Workers are putting the finishing touches on the Cholla courts, but no information is yet available on when the courts will be open to the public.

Scottsdale Community College is scheduled to open its four new pickleball courts within the week. The college had been using two taped pickleball courts on one of its tennis courts.

Four new pickleball courts are scheduled to be painted Nov. 24 and available for play 9 a.m. Tuesdays and Saturdays. Additional days and times will be added if needed.

The college provides free balls and paddles. There is a daily fee of $5 to use the courts and fitness center. Players can subscribe on a monthly or annual basis.
