Suns’ P.J. Tucker to make donation to Scottsdale Boys and Girls Club

0520Ns Community News (PJ Headshot)Phoenix Suns forward P.J. Tucker will be joined by Ring of Honor member Dan Majerle when he donates $9,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Scottsdale, Barker Branch,  2311 N. Miller Road, at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12.

The $9,000 donation is a result of Mr. Tucker being named the 2015 Majerle Hustle Award winner, given each year to the Suns player who most personified the hustle and work ethic of Suns Ring of Honor member, Dan Majerle, according to a press release.

Tucker grew up attending the Boys & Girls Clubs in his hometown of Raleigh, North Carolina, according to the release. Mr. Tucker selected the Boys and Girls Clubs because of his childhood ties.

Following the check presentation to Branch Director, Lauren Stratton, Mr. Tucker, Mr. Majerle and Suns broadcaster Tom Leander will host a basketball clinic and Get Fit Skit to teach Valley youth the importance of eating healthy and exercising regularly.

The Gorilla and members of the Solar Squad will also partake in the festivities, according to the release.
