They’re back: Giants practice in Scottsdale before spring training begins

Get out the sunscreen, sunglasses and shorts — spring training is starting up again in Scottsdale.

The San Francisco Giants practiced at the Scottsdale Stadium, 7408 E. Osborn Road, on Feb. 29 before their spring training season begins on Wednesday, March 2.

Also returning will be the Charros Lodge — an upper deck seating area that overlooks the ball field. The lodge offers premier seating during games as well as a rotating menu of local Valley food, including The Vig, Grimaldi’s, and Ruth’s Chris. The Scottsdale Charros have been hosting spring training since 1961.

Scottsdale is home to the Giants as well as the Arizona Diamondback’s and the Colorado Rockies during spring training. To purchase tickets to the Giants game, visit For tickets to Diamondback and Rockies games at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick visit
