We-Ko-Pa Resort to host Junior NABF middleweight title fight

Roy Jones Jr. Boxing and Iron Boy Promotions are pulling no punches with “Battle of the Unknown,” an evening of exhilarating boxing entertainment featuring world-class fighters in a variety of weight classes duking it out 7 p.m. Aug. 15 in a high-energy, action-packed competitive arena.

The main card and title fight will feature middleweight champion Louis “The Unknown” Rose (12-2-1, 4KOs) from Lynwood, Calif. defending his Junior NABF middleweight title against Andrew “Hurricane” Hernandez (9-1-1, 1KO) from Phoenix.

Rose upset Montenegro front runner Milorad Zizic March 13 in the same ring, granting him the biggest professional victory of his career and catapulting him into the WBC rankings.

Hernandez, also known as “The Fighting Pride of Phoenix,” has the skills – and home court advantage – to make this a warrior-style match.

In addition, Francisco DeVaca (11-0, 4KOs) will face an opponent who will be revealed soon, and Colorado brawler John Grimaldo (9-3, 6KOs) will take on prospect Benjamin Whitaker.

Also featured on the card will be undefeated Emmanuel Nieves (4-0), Paul Romero (4-0) and Jose Rodriguez-Herrera (2-0).

“Battle of the Unknown” will be held atthe We-Ko-Pa Resort & Conference Center, 10438 N. Fort McDowell Road, Scottsdale/Fountain Hills.

To reserve rooms at the resort, visit http://www.wekoparesortandconferencecenter.com/specials-en.html.

An after party offering extensive food and beverage options will be held at Fort McDowell Casino, next door to where the event will be held.

Tickets are priced at $75 ringside, $50 reserved and $30 general admission, and can be purchased at the casino gift shop, at tickets.ticketforce.com or by calling 480-840-0457.
